How many hours should I be sleeping as a 15 year old to be healthy?

I get tired easily lately and I've heard that that's usually because of having less sleep, and I think I might not be getting the correct amount of time sleeping. So how many hours should I be sleeping to be healthy? THANKS!!
Answer:
From 12 - 17-year young: 9 - 10 hours
Primary school children: 9-10 hours
Pre-schoolers: 12 hours sleep in a 24 hour period! It is not the same to sleep 8 hrs. from 12 AM - 8 AM, than to sleep 8 hrs. from 8 PM - 4 AM or 9 PM - 5 AM.
You feel more rested in the morning if you go to sleep before 10 PM and this is because our brain cells does not regenerate after 10 PM. So we wake up very tired and have little energy and lack of focus when we sleep late at night. Plus, we age faster!
And, let's say you went to sleep at 8-9 PM and you don't want to wake at 4-5 AM, you can sleep a couple of more hours before you go to school! But if you go to bed late, you will have to wake up and go to school or work all sleepy no matter what.Hope this info helps. Good health to you! :)
you must be a brain surgen to figure out being tired is caused by less sleep
Teenagers around your age should be getting anywhere from 9-11 hours of sleep. Probably about 10 would be perfect.
i think the recomended amout 4 most people is 8-10 hrs..
approximately 7-8 hours. that's what i've heard, haha. i just turned 16 (like it matters, lol) and i'm ALWAYS tired when i wake up for school. probably because i usually sleep around 3 AM every night, hahaha .
Sleep until you are not tired, if you sleep alot and you are still tired sleep less.
normally from 6-8 hours but i usually sleep for 10 or 11 .... !
You should be sleep at least 8 hours a day for your age group. If you are getting any less then you will be running your self ragged. Your family doctor can tell you that. Please make sure that it is not a sleep disorder that you have as well! Hope this helps you!!:)
Sleep until you wake up, then you know you're not tired anymore. Eight hours is usually enough. Lay off the caffeine too, that can mess with your sleep cycle.
Karbie, studies have shown that the average teen does require up 8-10 hours of sleep rather than 6-8 that most adults need. It is due to hormonal changes affecting your body and the amount of energy a normal teen expells. Getting the correct amount of sleep can help control your weight, and benefits your emotional health as well. Don't let the bed bugs bite!
If you are getting exercize during the day, eating well and are otherwise healthy, then don't worry about how much sleep you need. Sleep when you are tired and avoid naps. If you feel tired all the time, even when you get sleep at night - go get a checkup at the doctor. Could be you need vitamins. Everyone need different amounts of sleep. I can't function on less that 9. I have a friend who feels ill if she sleeps more that 5. Good Luck.
9 to 10 hours of sleep should be sufficient. are you eating properly? Your diet, if insufficient, can affect how tired you feel. lots of veggies and fruit - ease up on the soft drinks and sugary snacks can help also. good luck.
AT LEAST 8! the more sleep the better.
usually 7-8 hours a night at least. If you sleep to much it can cause you to get lazy and tired easily, but if you don't get enough sleep it can really impact your energy and performance. So try to get at least 7-8 hours a night. SWEET DREAMS:P
7-8 hours is the norm. But it really depends on how much energy you are exerting, not just physical but mental energy. If you are doing exams at the moment you probably are not getting enough sleep.
u should get at least 8 hours of sleep.9 or 10 would be perfect.
Teenagers my age (I'm 15 too)..I always sleep 9 hours a night, no matter what.Go to bed at ten on the dot, and I automatically (and suspiciously?) wake up at seven on the dot.
im fifteen also.
i usually go to bed around 10:30-11:00 and wake up around 7:15am
on schoool days.
but im always exausted.so try maybe like 9:15?
Probably around 8 hours to be healthy can be a bit more or a bit less depending on the person but at your age try to make sure you get at least 8 hours as you have a lot of body changes going on at the moment.
not a minute more than 8 hours. and drink a lot of water, thruout the day. i used to feel very sluggish before, until i got my health regime worked out, and i started eating properly, on time and drinking a lot of water.
if youve tried sleeping lots n sleepin little and nothin works speak to your doctor. are u irritable? lethargic, tried all the time do u ache? u could be anemic or diabetic or just lacking in vitamins, i was always tired no matter how little or much sleep i got and turned out i have little iron in my blood, almost low enough to make me anemic, (only found this out 2 days ago) now im takin iron tablets, obviously seein no effects now but it explains it
