How much is enough excersise for a female ?

my g/f is new to this whole working out thing. she wants to lose around 5lbs or so. i know a few things about fitness but whatever i try to tell her to do she gets "too tired" and quits. its very annoying.she does maybe 15 mins of walking or on the oliptical machine, which i dont think is enough. i was wondering whats a good about of time for her to work out for her to reach her goal and stay there?
Answer:
If she has never worked out before, no wonder. She needs to build up slowly. To start, 15 minutes of walking or on the elliptical is not too bad. Have her stay at that level for a week or so, then increase it by 5 minutes. The most important thing is that she keeps doing the exercise. Don't fuss at her for not doing what you think is not enough, you'll make her HATE exercising. Also, have her increase her water intake, that alone will help her lose a couple pounds, and coupled with the exercise will help those pounds melt off. And, set aside a time for you and your girlfriend to go for a walk, let her set the pace. It's a nice time for you to talk, bond and get the benefits of exercising.
30-40 mins of cardio 6 days a week
I would say that she should work out no less than 30 minutes a day. She should be working hard enough that she should have a little trouble talking but still be able to. She should do this at least 5 days a week and eat healthy. Even after she reaches her goal of 5 lbs she should continue exercizing to maintain her weight and just be healthy overall. Good luck to her!
The whole point is to keep you're heart beat, beating, pretty much. So start slow, start with a jog, if you're getting tired change to walk, but don't just stop (honestly, you can keep moving, it isnt that hard). If you HONESTLY need to have a break, limit the rest time. Don't let that heart beat go to its normal heart rate. You want to keep it up and going to burn off those calories.Next is diet. Get her eating healthy, no junk food, sodas, etc. Just by doing this, you'll lose weight. Remember, the body needs food to move along everyday, without food you have no energy.
I think 6 days a week for a beginner is crazy. I say 30 mins of cardio twice a week and also eat healthy doing both of this she should have lost the 5lbs in a month and be able to keep it off.
Its good for everyone to atleast get 30 mins of cardio 7 days a week. Doctors recommend the lowest at 30 mins of cardio 3 days a week. Cardio doesnt mean that she has to be huffing and puffing. A 30 min brisk walk should be good. If she wants to push it she can. However if she wants to only do 15 mins of cardio alot of weightloss experts recommend that it is actually better as long as it is intense cardio and she should be huffing and puffing.
